Hi all..
I am a newbie to dxl scripting
I have a module A which is read only and module B which will be read/write.

Now i need to link module B object headings not all the headings in module B.. to module A

Script should list all the object headings and user selects the required object heading of module B and in module A I have column called REQ ID with unique ids ie like REQ_123,REQ_34 etc for each object row.

So the script should even ask for the exact REQ ID which has to be linked in the module A. Once selected the script should link the module B heading with the REQ ID in module A

Manually i am doing like Startlink in module B and Make link from start in module A and Clear link in module B

Which is tiresome so am looking for some good dxl scripts which will be a great help for me.

So you want to link a B headings to the A heading that have the same REQ ID as B.

That is very similar to Link-By-Attribute; which has the rather serious flaw that it fails to remove links that already exist but are no longer called for.

Seems to me you want to put all the REQ IDs of A into a Skip list, then search it:

for oA in mA do
{  put(skpReqsA, oA."REQ ID" "", oA)
}
 
for oB in mB do
{  ReqB = oB."REQ ID"
   if (find(skpReqsA, ReqB, oA)) //
   then create link from oB to oA
}
